facts
Over 20 motor and sailing yachts successfully built and refitted since 2003 ranging from 12 to 66 meters in size. In partnership with our parent company Marine Projects Ltd., we usually employ 400-500 people, including a robust in-house engineering team of 25 people. The production site covers 50 000 m2, including 6600 m2 of covered halls and workshops, 500 meters of outfitting quay, as well as our 100-ton floating crane Goliath and 400-ton floating crane Consul. ISO 9001 quality management certificates and workshop approval certificates were issued by Germanischer Lloyd. Production is carried out under the supervision of various classification societies such as LR, DNVGL (formerly GL and DNV), ABS, BV, PRS and others.
PARENT COMPANY
Founded in 1989, Marine Projects Ltd. is an established name in Europe and beyond specializing in engineering and production of commercial ships up to 100 meters. Today their principal activities include turnkey complete ship construction, the building of fully outfitted superstructures as well as partly outfitted hulls and hull blocks. Marine Projects Ltd. gives Conrad S.A. access to a robust engineering team and all the necessary production facilities to build luxury motor and sailing yachts to the highest Northern European standard.
THE
Several of our employees have been with the Conrad site since before Marine Projects Ltd. was established in 1989 and today some are the 3rd generation of their family to be with the shipyard. Launching roughly one-two yachts per year there is a personal dedication and pride with each project successfully launched and delivered to the owner. Having had the opportunity to work on a vast variety of different yachts we pride ourselves in our flexibility and dedication.
IN-HOUSE
Having built a broad range of very different sailing and motor yachts, our proven engineering team of over 25 professionals, has a wide variety of different specialties. Depending on the project we partner with the best international names in naval architecture and design, but we have the capabilities and tools to do virtually everything in-house. That includes mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, deck systems, navigation systems, etc. Our yachts are built to the highest Classification Societies such as Lloyd's Register, DNVGL, as well as Bureau Veritas if lighter equipment is sufficient.
RESEARCH &
Our engineering team is actively improving existing technologies and developing new technologies. We have been acclaimed for our work on air conditioning/climate control solutions and we regularly work with local maritime universities and research institutes like CTO S.A. on these projects. As an example in partnership with the Gdynia Maritime University, we developed rigorous processes to minimize sound and vibration before, during, and after the production of each yacht.
ENVIRONMENTAL
Our recent work received two separate financing grants from the EU related to environmental responsibility. Both projects are connected to optimizing exhaust systems for small to medium sized ships. One project focuses on producing cleaner exhaust emissions while the other focuses on more effectively harnessing the released thermal energy.
