Marine Projects Ltd.: New Delivery
Our parent company Marine Projects Ltd. has been busy as well. In partnership with Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft, they have completed the construction of a superstructure for a large passenger and car ferry for well-known Irish Continental Group (ICG).
The ferry, 194.8m long and 31.6m wide, will be able to carry 1,900 passengers in 435 cabins as well as 300 cars. The four-deck superstructure with a weight of approximately 5,500 tons, as well as the decorative chimney was built by Marine Projects Ld., in three parts due to its considerable size and length of 158m.
Each of the three blocks of the superstructure was loaded on a separate sea pontoon to be towed to Flensburg. At arrival, the individual blocks will be, with help of cranes, put on the ferry hull built in Flensburg.
The superstructure was partially equipped and completely painted in-house, which will allow the ship to be completed within the next few months.
Currently, the build of another superstructure for the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft is in progress.
The construction of partially or fully equipped superstructure has been one of the specialties of Marine Projects Ltd. for years.
